Traditional Kitchen Extension

2023 - Hove, East Sussex

Our client tells us: “We recently decided to undertake a large renovation which included as a focus, a new kitchen. After visiting a few show rooms in the Hove area we settled on Design Interiors. Not just because we liked the products on display, but because the first person we spoke to in the showroom - Tim - was friendly and personable, without being pushy. We decided on going with a classic shaker style kitchen built by Davonport, and with the help of Tim we were able to build exactly what we were looking for to complete our project. We couldn't be happier with the end product and would thoroughly recommend Design Interiors to anyone looking to build a space to enjoy for the future.”

Design Interiors received the preliminary plans form ARCHangels Architects & invited the clients into the Hove showroom for coffee.

The clients wanted a bright, airy social space to entertain family life with young children. It was important that the appliances were in an arrangement that would work well for their way of cooking & they knew instantly that they preferred they style & quality of the traditional Davonport furniture.

From the beginning of the design process the clients were keen to have dark cabinets with light marble worktops. Tim guided & assisted their decisions whist adhering to their initial request.

By keeping the island clear of any appliances Tim was able to create 3 distinct areas & meet the brief of of the social space also. The L-shape allows for clear cooking & prep zones & having the sink by the window enables our clients to watch the children play in the garden whilst clearing up.

The long bi-fold windows over the sink area were designed to open the space up for BBQ’s in the garden connecting the internal & external cooking & prep zones. This also creates a bar area for when hosting summer garden parties.
