Contemporary Kitchen Extension

2022 - Saltdean, East Sussex

Our clients based in Saltdean were building a kitchen extension & came to us with the idea of having a breakfast bar in the design, as they didn’t think the space would work any other way. Tim talked over the plans with them & felt that based on their busy family life & desire to entertain, a design with an island would be more suitable.

Our clients wanted to have bi-fold windows that opened into the garden, to create a bar area for Summer BBQ’s. Tim designed a reduced depth run to accommodate this & deliberately positioned the wine fridge in the island, to have easy access for when the using this feature.

Our clients wanted a darker aesthetic & told us the tone of the timber floor they wanted to use. Tim led them through material options & the design aesthetics were created using a textured lacquer door front in a bespoke colour with a bronze effect recessed grip rail, to compliment the patinated brass Quooker tap. The worktops are 20mm rugged grey concrete with a natural veneer Leicht breakfast bar.
